History

Teknokon Endüstri Tesisleri İnşaat ve Montaj A. Ş. started its activities under the name of Teknokon Makina, İmalat ve Montaj A. Ş. established in 1993 by 4 mechanical engineers.

Teknokon, in its early years of establishment, aimed to operate in two branches as process equipment manufacture and industrial plant installation. A few years after its establishment, its activities in industrial installation followed an increasing speed.

Teknokon made its first agreement over 1 million Dollars in 1996 with the company titled Amylum, and in the following years, it went on with installation agreements for medium and large scale petrochemical complexes for a few million dollars with Sabancı and Zorlu group companies.

In early 2000s, Teknokon undertook its first foreign contracting project with Danish company titled PCE in Georgia, and thus, it successfully completed its first project over 10 million dollar.

Many installation projects of refineries, oil storage, iron steel, air separation facilities and power plants were undertaken as the main contractor or on behalf of EPC companies in Turkey. Between the years 2006 and 2010, more than 20 medium and large scale industrial installation projects were completed in Turkey, and it managed to become the first Turkish contractor to do business in Cuba by signing an agreement for an acid plant installation in Cuba in 2008.

Despite the fluctuations occurring in its total revenue due to the effect of the economic crisis appearing in 2000, 2004 and 2008 and the suspension of investment projects, annual average growth values of 25% were accomplished.

Based on the strategic decision made in 2011, Teknokon started a reorganization process with the goal of becoming an EPC contractor company providing service in all branches, and Teknokon Endüstri Tesisleri İmalat ve Montaj A. Ş. was established in 2013 by being separated from the processing equipment company.
